A couple of years ago, I was the photographer at my best friend’s wedding. I know, it’s a corny movie, but there I was, photographing family member after family member. All of a sudden, my attention was drawn to a new arrival. A redhead with a fishnetty, see-througy top and so much energy that it looked as if everyone else was moving at half speed. The kind of scene in a movie where they slow everything down and it feels like one person is sucking all the attention towards her. I believe ravishing is the word to use.

Inge

She presented herself as Inge, the cousin of Joris, my friend.

Turned out she was pretty cool, into music and open for collaboration. Sounds like a love story and it kinda is… We did our first shoot not long after. She was in a band called Candlebags and they were fire.

We kept in touch over the years. Bit of Facebook, bit of Insta. We liked a lot of the same things. When she started Yerra Yerra, I booked her for the Drossrock festival in Hasselt, right before they got picked up by Radio Willy. Even though we had only a friendly agreement, they still came to play eventhough they had other, better offers. That’s a special thing, these days.

When they asked to do the fotoshoot for the band, I didn’t hesitate, negociated a guestlist and another performance at Drossrock on 5 and 6 september 2025 and made some calls.

I’m really happy with the result and I think they are too. Wonderful people, very rock and roll and an absolute must-see later this year.
